Spaghetti! Spaghetti!

This is a great poem by Jack Prelutsky. We just had to cook some spaghetti.  Sorry parents, we broke all the rules.  We were allowed to slurp, wind it around our fingers, and try and eat it with no hands.  We made moustaches too!  So much fun.

There is lots happening in Room 3

We have just finished reading The Indian in the Cupboard. It was a great story and everyone wanted to make their own magic cupboard. We all chose some figurines which would come to life. Some made Lego movies, others wrote stories.

Magnets

This week have had fun learning about Magnets. We discovered many things inside and outside that magnets will attract.

Catastrophe!

This week we have read a poem called "A Remarkable Adventure" by Jack Prelutsky.  The poem describes some outrageous reasons a little boy does not have his homework.

We wrote some stories about why we didn't bring our homebooks to school.

Catastrophe

When I went to the sea with my home book a shark had a bite of my home book.  I ran away and then a terrible tiger came out of a bush and bit my home book into pieces.  When I went to a rock to sit on, there was a snake and it ate it all.  The snake gobbled it up.  That was the end of my home book. Then I went to school with out my home book.

Catastrophe

I was sitting at the table then this weird looking alien popped up and ran away with my home book.  I chased after it and more popped up and kept passing it around.   Then suddenly, three monkeys swooped down and took my home book and ran off into the trees.  The monkeys got stuck in the sinking sand and then a giant fly ate it and that was the end.

Catastrophe

"Mrs Meehan, I forgot my home book because....
I was approached by a tiger that stole my home book.  It turned back and looked at me, licked its lips and was off again.  I was right off straight away after that thief.  I heard  tearing and  scratching up in a tree,  I looked up, and came face to face with a scorpion.
"Ssss," it said and it scuttled away.  I ran off after it and  it was nowhere to being seen.  Suddenly I heard a  rustling like never before, I ran over to the lake and snap! I saw an enormous  happy smiling crocodile.  Once it saw me it swam to the bottom of the lake.   I looked around and spotted some vines.  I started to swing, but then I looked up and saw a parrot with my home book.  I swung after it but it dropped my home book into the lake.
So that's why I don't have my home book with me today."

Catastrophe

I don't have my home book because a Unicorn popped by and put my home book in her mouth.  She threw me up on her back and we went to imagination land.  There was a tube that the Unicorn put me and my home book through.  There were all sorts of stuff over here like pencils that talked,  drink bottles that tasted like lollies, and ice creams with faces.   I ate some lollies but then the Unicorn came back and she took me home but my home book was left behind.  So that is why I don't have my home book here today.

Catastrophe

I don't have my home book and here is why.  A pot plant came alive that was hanging on my bedroom roof.  It jumped down with its tangly vines swinging here and there.   It grabbed my book and swung away with no fear.  I ran into the kitchen after the plant but instead of finding the pot plant  guess what I found?  Trees were around holding the pot plant in one branch, trying to pick me up!  I bashed them and ran outside. I was not  safe. I found bees buzzing around!
I tried to bash them but I failed.  I saw a beehive and now I cried until an Albatross crashed down and picked me up and took me to its nest.   In a flash, it tried to catch me but I'm to fast I jumped off the cliff to get away.  Luckily I landed on soft moss.  Tigers pounced down on me!

I heard a noise. So did the tigers. I was able to get away just in time.  I climbed into a tree and an animal came along and climbed up the tree.  It had a camera and took a photo of me.  I saw it and touched it and I was transformed into a fairy!  Then I was human again.

I saw a stone path and  followed, it lead into a zoo!.  I looked around and then I saw a monkey escaping from its  place and it picked me up and took me home.  That's why I don't have my home book today and I don't know where the plant is.

An Afternoon of Plays

For three weeks we have been practising plays from the School journals.  today, we performed them for our family and friends.
Our organising committee, Carlos, Maddy, Maiah and Katelyn, helped by Aliyah, did a great job with props and introductions and filling in parts for children who were away.
